fREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE YOUR OPERATING DATES?

For 2024, we will be operating in the following blocks for each school term (8 weeks: week 2 to end of week 9):

Term 1 2024: 29 January - 22 March

Term 2 2024: 22 April - 14 June

Term 3 2024: 15 July - 6 September

How do I book in again for next term?

Your booking with Blossom House rolls into each new school term and school year until you provide written notice that you no longer require your weekly session. Please note that we require a minimum of 7 days’ notice in order to cancel your session and ensure you are not charged.

WHere are you located?

Sessions with Alex & James: 14 Harvey Street, Mount Lofty

Sessions with Judy, Kelli, Michael & Sandy: The Lighthouse Toowoomba, 126 Margaret Street, Toowoomba City. Click here for more directions.

Sessions with Alexandra: Online via Zoom. Please use a quiet room where you won’t be disrupted and ensure you have a laptop with a video camera and microphone.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We have a strict cancellation policy, given our limited time to see students outside of school hours, along with the demand for our services. Our tutors make themselves available for sessions and often spend large amounts of time preparing in advance prior to each student’s session. For that reason, we now charge for our services for the full school term block as outlined above, regardless of attendance. If students are unwell, we offer online sessions via Zoom. If you wish to cancel your position as a student of Blossom House at any stage, we require 7 days’ notice in writing to hello@blossomhouseco.com. Note that we are not able to reserve your scheduled sessions for you if you are unwilling to pay for the full term’s tuition (either up-front or in weekly instalments). Invoices not paid on time will also result in your scheduled sessions being cancelled and made available to students on our waitlist.

Do you offer group sessions?

No. Our belief is that students requiring extra help benefit most from private sessions in a 1:1 dynamic with a calm, supportive and experienced education professional.

what kind of experience do your tutors have?

Our tutors are all either qualified teachers, hold tertiary qualifications in the subjects that they are teaching, or they have 10+ years experience as an education professional working directly with children.

how and when do we pay?

We require payment for an entire school term (8 weeks blocks) for students holding a weekly scheduled session. Payment for the term is required up-front to secure your position and must be paid by week 1 of each school term prior to commencing the first session of each term in week 2. Payment plans are available upon request.

do you operate during school holidays?

All weekly scheduled sessions are automatically put on hold during school holidays (dates as outlined by Queensland Education). For students wishing to continue sessions during school holidays, please email us at hello@blossomhouseco.com to make a request for your tutor’s availability. We do not guarantee that our tutors will be available during school holidays.

what happens if my tutor is away?

When tutors are away, you will be offered a credit on your account or a refund. Where possible, we will offer a different session time, though this is not often available due to our heavily booked out schedules.

can i book in for one-off sessions rather than a weekly spot?

Our tutors are almost always entirely booked out with students holding a weekly session during the school term. If you are interested in one-off sessions prior to an exam, or if you are wanting to trial our services, you can email us at hello@blossomhouseco.com to check our availability.

my child has improved from sessions really quickly and we no longer require a weekly session. what do we do?

If your child is no longer needing a weekly session, we simply require 7 days’ written notice to give us time to book in another student on our waitlist. If you have paid up-front for the term, any remaining prepayments will be refunded to you.
