It all started…
Working as a tutor for one of the well-known Australian tutoring franchises while I was studying at university on the Gold Coast, my passion for teaching and working with children was ignited from a young age.
In 2012, I noticed a need for private tuition within my hometown of Goondiwindi, and so, I started my business, full of enthusiasm and energy to make a difference. It grew very quickly to the point where my team and I were tutoring over 50 students every week. I feel very proud of what we accomplished and how we helped so many students to become more confident in themselves and more passionate about learning. I sold this business to a very passionate and dedicated teacher in 2014.
Now living in Toowoomba, I wanted to build my business to be something unique in terms of how we approach learning.
When we first welcome students into our Blossom House family, I notice a lot of students are worried about getting something wrong, sometimes to the point that they don’t even want to try.
This fear of failure can be crippling for some students.
I love helping kids overcome this fear and empowering them to embrace having a go, no matter the outcome. I’m also passionate about supporting children with strategies and techniques to lessen anxiety and stress, which is why I've studied to become a Peaceful Kids facilitator. These mindfulness and wellbeing sessions give children the tools they need to build their emotional resilience.
At Blossom House Co, our team of tutors encourage students to work with their strengths, which builds their confidence and self-esteem to a level where the areas they want to improve upon naturally become strengths too.
